LEVENTA complex is housed in the erected in the 20s of the XIX century LEVENT TABIA FORT, once the strongest and largest unit of the Ottoman fortifications in the region of Rousse. It was built to the design of a Prussian officer von Moltke. After the Liberation from the Ottoman yoke, the stronghold was preserved and used as ammunition dump of the Danube Flotilla. An anti-aircraft battery was positioned there during the World War II.

In 1972, the building was converted into an attractive restaurant, named LEVENTA. Many prominent state officials, among them Fidel Castro, Leonid Brezhnev and Chaushesko as well as hundreds of tourist groups were welcomed in the seven dining halls of the complex, each of them featuring the atmosphere in the Balkan capitals.

The restaurant was closed in the middle of the 90s and was restored and renovated at the end of 2005. It was transformed into a LEVENTA complex that incorporates a restaurant and the Rousse Wine House. Richly decorated with hand-painted frescoes, the restaurant seats 150 persons and is separated into 7 dining halls. The Rousse Wine House produces premium LEVENT branded white and red wines. The production technology is a combination of an ancient natural wine making practice and recent technical developments.
